‘the Cove’ are celebrating once again as they continue their successful year by taking ‘Gold’ in the ‘Taste of the West’ Catagory at the South West Tourism Excellence Awards last Monday. The award ceremony which took place at the

This follows their Gold award in the ‘Best Restaurant’ catagory at the Cornish Tourism Awards at the end of October. ‘the Cove’ were shortlisted with only three other establishments from across the entire South West region and was the only Cornish Restaurant to be considered for the title. 

 Head Chef and Proprietor Arty Williams was ‘absolutely over the moon’ with the award which recognises commitment to excellence, sustainability and promotion of the local area as a year-round tourist destination; areas which Arty and his team pride themselves on.

‘We aim to showcase the very best that Cornwall has to offer all year round; from the fantastic seasonal produce to the stunning, constantly evolving sea views right on our doorstep, not to mention the talented staff which make up our kitchen and front of house teams!’

Despite his commitment to these elements, Arty was still shocked by the award declaring ‘we don’t come to work to win awards ; we come because we love what we do. To recieve such prestigious regional recognition for what we do is a huge honour, a massive complement and I’m incredibly proud of my team!’
