We are delighted that Michael Caines has acquired our beautiful beach front restaurant; The Cove at Maenporth.
Located just outside of Falmouth, South Cornwall, we are nestled just above the golden sandy beach, with uninterrupted views across Falmouth Bay and towards Pendennis Castle and the lighthouse on St Anthony Head.
Michael is really thrilled to be launching his first venture across the Cornish border which has previously been owned and operated by Arty Williams and Annette Rickard for the past 17 years and who have firmly put The Cove on the map.
Michael has long held a passion for South-West produce from Devon and Cornwall, advocating many of the local suppliers through his seasonal menus including Cornish Duck and fantastic seafood sourced from the coast of Cornwall, many of which feature in his famed tasting menus at the Michelin starred Lympstone Manor Hotel [link to Lympstone Manor].
Michael aims for The Cove to continue to be well renowned amongst the local immunity and to continue highlighting the regions very best produce, standing by his ethos of local and seasonal produce.
We will continue to offer a related and informal approach to dining, serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner with menu designed to attract families, locals and holidays makers visiting this beautiful area and whilst championing the best of the Cornish produce
Our menus feature both a brasserie style à la carte menu and a tasting menu which will feature some of Michael’s signature dishes for a gourmet experience. To view our menu, please click here [link to menu].
Michael stated that his is “delighted to be able to take on the restaurant and work with the dedicated team to continue to champion the best of Cornish produce in this informal and beautiful setting. We wish Arty and Annette all the best for the future and thank them for entrusting this fantastic property to us”.
The team at The Cove have currently been training at Lympstone Manor while the restaurant has undergone a light refurbishment of the kitchen only to understand and hone their craft in the anticipation of a new style of service and cuisine on offer this summer.
