Press Release: Michael Caines Relaunches The Cove in Maenporth

This award-winning restaurant nestled on the shoreline of Maenporth Beach has been delighting diners for the past twenty years. Now a proud part of the Michael Caines Collection, acclaimed Michelin star chef, Michael, is looking forward to sharing his vision and culinary magic with diners of The Cove both old and new, after an interrupted opening back in March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Described as family-friendly, relaxed Cornish dining, The Cove prides itself on using the finest, freshest local ingredients from Falmouth Bay and beyond. Located in the centre of two stunning Heritage Coasts, the picturesque Roseland Heritage Coast and the dramatic Lizard Heritage Coast that leads down to the most southerly point of mainland Britain, this intoxicating mix matches Michaels’ award-winning style.

Championing the relaunch of The Cove are a few new faces, including Group Executive Chef, Stuart Shaw, Head Chef, Michael Cingari and Restaurant Manager, Kris Kirsimagi, with more roles left to fill to complete this already impressive team.

Michael Caines has long been a champion of the South West and its outstanding larder, and working directly with local producers & suppliers is fundamental to his cuisine, ethos and values. When talking about The Cove, Michael said:

I fell in love with this special spot when I first saw it and its beauty and isolation, nestled on the shoreline of Maenporth Beach. The Cove is a true sanctuary, a place to escape from the day-to-day cares. Here you’ll be able to pop up from the beach for breakfast or visit us while strolling the South West Coast Path to enjoy mid-morning coffee or lunch al fresco on the elevated dining terrace. In the evening, as the sun sets over the Lizard, you can wind down the day with the full evening dining experience, including some of my signature dishes.”

The Cove reopened its doors to the public on Wednesday 9th March 2022 after a short winter closure. The newly formed team is looking forward to delighting diners with their seasonal a la carte menu and Michael’s Signature Tasting Menu, along with teas & coffees, afternoon nibbles and nighttime tipples. Book a table here

Wednesday to Sunday, 11am – 11pm
Serving lunch 12pm – 2pm and dinner 5pm – 8-30pm.
