What’s on in Falmouth this summer?

After a tumultuous couple of years, this summer promises to be much better than the previous two! Some much-missed events are back after being cancelled due to the pandemic and we can’t wait to see Falmouth bustling with tourists and exciting events once again.

Here are a few things we’re looking forward to this summer.

RNLI Castle 2 Castle Swim – 25th June

For those who love sea swimming, this RNLI is the event for you! The Castle 2 Castle Swim is an iconic one-mile open water sea swim across the Carrick Roads, starting at Pendennis Castle in Falmouth and finishing at St Mawes Castle on the Roseland Peninsula. This popular event is limited to 450 swimmers and tickets are being booked up fast, so if you fancy braving it, or even want to volunteer and lend a hand, sign up today. All proceeds are donated to the RNLI.

Falmouth Classic – 17th to 19th June

Falmouth Classics features three days of nail-biting racing and a spectacular showcase of classic boats and traditional vessels. Since it began, in 1987, Falmouth Classics has steadily grown to be one of the largest classic sailing events in the UK. Tying in nicely with the Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival, around 65,000 people are expected to flock to Falmouth to watch and partake in these wonderful events.

Falmouth Week 5th to 14th August

So many exciting things are taking place on Falmouth Week that you won’t even know where to start. Enjoy spectacular food from the street markets, boogey to live music from Carnival Night, Reef, Craig Charles, Bad Manners to name a few, watch the famous Red Arrows take to the sky and ride the Victorian carousel – the fun is never-ending. No ticket is required, simply turn up and enjoy.

Falmouth Oyster Festival – 13th to 16th October

The highlight of Falmouth’s end-of-summer/beginning-of-Autumn calendar is back in October. The nationally recognised, award-winning Oyster festival celebrates the start of the oyster dredging season. Indulge in fresh oysters at the oyster bar, sample a wide variety of seafood, wines and champagne as well as real ales and stouts, create arts and crafts and view special demonstrations from renowned chefs.
